Another Successful Crafternoon Tea

14 Sep

Our  Crafternoon tea went with a swing on Sunday 13 September and whilst enjoying ourselves crafting and consuming a delicious afternoon tea we managed to raise a staggering £950.00 for the Brick Children School in Nepal.

It was an early start with the Crafternoon tea fairies preparing the sandwiches and crafts and decorating the hall.

But, by 1.30pm when the crafters  started to arrive all was looking lovely and the atmosphere was calm.

There were a variety of crafts to choose from – some easy and others that took a little time, such as the dream catcher…,

Caroline

…. but they did look wonderful when they were finished.

The little Christmas angel looked cute – and Corinne, Keris and Hillary seem to be estremely happy with their efforts.

And Caroline and Fiona created little Christmas peg dollies for their festive trees….

the most popluar craft of all though was the Christmas wreath

Though some thought it might be better utilised as a halo!

A great time was had by all and the army of helpers went home happy that they had raised a few smiles and an awful lot of money!

We would like to thank everyone who supported our event – the helpers (including husbands), those who participated and those who gave various donations (including the local cycle team who dropped by on their travels).  Raising £950.00 would not have been possible without you so….  THANK YOU!!!!

It so wonderful the amount of money raised, and I love the way we all worked together
to help Hilary and Monica to do this for such a good cause. I’ve made some lovely friends in Cutting Edge and I feel very blessed to be part of this lovely group of ladies. Sandra

Gearing up for Christmas

29 Sep

We are all busy, busy, busy creating goodies for our Crafternoon Tea on 19 November, which is being held in the Lesser Hall in Cowbridge Town Hall.

Just look at these cute little wreath decorations for the Christmas tree. Cleverly created by Hilary using curtain hooks and scraps of Christmas fabric.

Hilary has also knitted a Christmas pudding tea cosy but tells us that it is adorning her teapot at the moment!

Jenny is busy making dribble bibbles and tooth fairy cushions and Monica is on a mission making Scottie dogs which were very were popular at last year’s fund raising event. Let’s hope they are as popular this year otherwise her tree will be full of them!

Come back again soon – we will be posting more crafty creations as we make them. And, don’t forget to put 19 November in your diaryso that you buy some!
